For anyone who grew up skiing in the 1970s, Poma lifts were the best way to get up the mountain. Back in the day, chairlifts were slow and boring, while pomas were all fun and action: grab the pole, settle the disk between your legs, and look for every opportunity to catch some air over the bumps as you were pulled up the hill by the seat of your pants.
At Okemo Mountain, where Peter learned to ski, the most fun Poma was the green one.
When we started looking for a name, we wanted to pick something that had meaning for us, and reflected our mission: to create a website devoted to green living.
